I have long thought everybody is creative. For the longest time, I didn't know how to show that. Then, last June, I had an opportunity to teach a group of kids about writing/creativity. That fell through for personal reasons on my part, so in September, it became teaching/talking to senior citizens. That was the impetus for coming up with The Idea Pocket.
I've wanted to be a creativity coach for a long time, too. So far, that hasn't happened due to financial reasons, but hopefully that will change soon and I'll be able to begin taking the classes.
I kept getting an increasing feeling of "This Is Needed Now." Going from that, I started working on doing more presentations on creativity and The Idea Pocket. Still, I felt like more was needed, so I started
the Idea Pocket blog.
That was okay for a while and it let me work on some other things as well. But again I felt the sense of urgency, so I started working on the
Creative TIPs website, which evolved from just The Idea Pocket. (That's what the "TIP" in the name stands for, by the way.) It now encompasses the original Idea Pocket and also the KNOWS (Keep a Notebook Organization Working System).
While I do and will continue to write other things, this path is my calling. Creativity, and the promotion of it, is in my soul.
I do not believe, as someone once told me, that we cannot call ourselves creative, that history decides that. That is a very wrong statement, as far as I am concerned. We can be and are creative
now regardless of what anyone else may think. History may pass judgment on the timelessness of our creations, but we are now creative.
